Andrea Scagliarini was born in Torino in 1961. He started to play harp professionally since the late '70s. He has performed with many international blues artists including British rocker Paul Kelly, and the legendary "Broombuster" Homesick James. He also has performed, with guitar player and singer Phil Guy, at the 13th (1991) and 14th (1992) editions of the B.L.U.E.S. North Halsted Street Festival of Chicago. He wrote about harmonica techniques and harp players for the most important Italian blues magazine, Il Blues. The American Harmonica Newsletter spotted on his musical activities in May 1994. Influenced by Walter Horton, Little Walter and Jounior Wells, Andrea is a very technical harmonica player with a perfect control of the high end of the instrument. Gifted with a good intonation, Andrea has developed a personal vocabulary on the harp and plays Lee Oskar harmonicas exclusively. He is currently working with one of the best Italian guitarist, Dario Lombardo, with whom is playing in blues and jazz clubs and festivals. His harp playing is featured in several Italian Blues Anthologies. His last effort can be heard on: Dario Lombardo & The Blues Gang. I don't want 2 lose. Jazz Mobile JMR 1005-2 (1998).
