Projects
Here is a couple of projects you can
attempt by yourself (please be careful and patient !!).
- A clever mic project - i-mic
- using a dynamic element ($8). This project is very simple. Dig Planet
Harmonica for details.
- Add a volume pot to your mic. Material:
1 pot (value choice*: 500K Ohm; 1 M Ohm; 5M
Ohm, logaritmic type); some wires; a knob to turn the potentiometer with;
skill required: you need to know how to solder. * A
volume pot is always connected from the signal wire (hot) to ground. This
gives a path for some of the signal to ground thus reducing the signal
strength and the amount of highs. A lower sized pot (i.e., 500K) bleeds more
signal off to ground than a large 5 M pot). Solder the various
components as shown in the diagram. Note: if you use a common pot, I
recommend spraying the inside of the pot with contact spray, then turn the
knob a few time just to avoid any scratching sound.
