Fabrizio Poggi, vocal,
harmonica and accordion, led the Italian American music favorite band
"Chicken Mambo". Influenced by Lousiana
Cajun, Texas swing, western ballads and Mississippi delta blues, Poggi blends these
musical languages in
an original amalgam which he defines as "Americana" music. Chicken
Mambo has recorded four CD's and toured extensively Italy and Europe receiving
rave reviews everywhere. On 1999, Fabrizio Poggi & Chicken Mambo toured
Texas where they played in some of the most famous clubs, such as Jovita's,
Central Market, Gabriel's, Saxon Pub and Poodie's Hilltop. They also appeared on
TV to play at "What's the cover" the famous show of the musical TV
"Austin Music Network". A great singer and entertainer, Poggi is a
fine harmonica player too. His work has been positively reviewed in many
specialized magazines including Folk Roots, Blues Access, Soul Bag, Harmonica
World, and Easy Reeding. Harmonically speaking, Poggi is a bright player
with a strong rhythm approach and a solid melodic vein.
